Driver & Install Technician

Responsibilities

• Load, deliver & install portable HVAC equipment to a variety of customer sites for emergency or scheduled events, sometimes requiring long drives or overnight stays.
• Serve customers as the face of Axis on the frontlines, providing professional, respectful service while performing work and solving on-site challenges.
• Work with your team: track activity and progress by communicating job notes and updates, keeping everything organized using company‑provided technology.
• Uphold our standard: keep equipment clean, vehicles organized, adhere to professional uniform standards while delivering industry‑leading customer service.

Requirements

• 1+ years of commercial driving experience preferred; experience with box‑trucks and sprinter vans is a plus.
• A 5‑year clean driving record is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in extreme heat or cold, handling physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, or pulling 25+ lbs., and working on ladders.
• Strong communication skills with problem‑solving abilities and a professional demeanor.
• Comfortable with mobile devices, tablets, and laptops; able to navigate apps, complete digital records, and communicate with customers.
• 1+ year of HVAC technician experience preferred.
• Strong desire to deepen expertise in HVAC diagnostics, service, and responsibilities, taking on more complex challenges each year.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour based upon experience.

Schedule

Weekly schedule with regular hours; availability for rotating on‑call shifts, including emergency client requests on nights, weekends, and holidays required. Seasonal demand brings more overtime opportunities during peak summer/winter seasons; be ready for emergencies such as wildfires, hurricanes, heat waves, and winter storms. On the road: responsible for transporting equipment to customer sites—quick local drop‑offs or multi‑hour trips; may drive solo or with a teammate. Varied work environments include retail stores, construction projects, and manufacturing plants; time unloading and installing equipment ranges from a few minutes to a full day. Warehouse duties when not on the road: unboxing, testing, preparing, and cleaning equipment to keep it and the team ready for the next job.
