Driver II

Summary

Carlsbad by the Sea Retirement Community is hiring a Driver II On-Call to transport passengers in buses, vans, or cars to local or distant points according to scheduled times.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service to residents, families, co-workers, and vendors
• Drives bus, van, or car to transport residents and guests according to assigned time schedule
• Travels to local or distant points for activity department as needed
• Aids residents on and off the vehicle as required
• Assists with loading packages on and off the bus as needed
• Schedules, confirms, and adjusts appointments for residents
• Maintains heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for resident comfort
• Inspects bus daily before departure using a pre-trip/post-trip inspection form
• Maintains vehicle in good operating order and reports any issues to supervisor
• Cleans and services vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories
• Reports delays or accidents and safety hazards to supervisor
• Keeps records of daily inspections, routing, CHP inspections, and mileage computations
• Fulfills department safety standards and participates in safety programs
• Operates safely and efficiently
• Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment as required
• Attends mandatory in-service meetings
• Complies with department and facility policies and procedures

Requirements

• Class B or Class C California driver's license with passenger endorsement
• High School diploma or equivalent
• One year of commercial driver experience transporting passengers

• Experience with commercial driving
• Knowledge of relevant laws and procedures
• Ability to maintain vehicle in good condition
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Physical ability to perform job duties
