DRIVER I (CLASS B CDL) - WEEKEND DAY SHIFT (391)

Responsibilities

• Drives forklift to prepare customer orders.
• Receives product from vendors, wraps and bands pallets.
• Performs general housekeeping duties.
• Assists in loading and unloading trailers as needed.
• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of straight/box truck according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspects truck to ensure compliance with company safety standards and reports issues.
• Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; reports safety hazards immediately.
• Inspects cargo area for properly loaded and secured freight; performs count checks and verifies Bills of Lading (BOL) or customer invoices.
• Accurately and legibly completes all required paperwork associated with freight.
• Drives straight/box truck to deliver NOW Foods and other health/natural food products to Fruitful Yield retail stores and customers’ places of business according to predetermined routes.
• Performs damage control checks, scanning and reporting issues according to company policy.
• Ensures cab, cargo area, and freight are appropriately locked/secured at all times.
• Maintains driver log and records delivery information.
• Collects payment from customers via check or money order and records transactions.
• Issues or obtains customer signatures on receipts for pickup or delivery.
• Loads customer returns onto the truck and secures freight with company-provided padlock.
• Resolves service complaints and unloads product into stores or customer businesses.
• Loads and unloads damaged goods or customer returns, completing necessary paperwork.
• Unloads equipment, materials, and removes trash from the truck as required.
• Picks up raw materials and supplies from vendors, transporting them to the main warehouse or distribution center.
• Performs general housekeeping in the truck, loading dock area, and maintains cleanliness.
• Complies with safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.

Requirements

• One to three years of related experience.
• CDL Class B license with Air Brake Endorsement required.
• Demonstrated ability to consistently meet quality, safety, and efficiency goals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and high-quality work standards.
• Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, off shifts, and/or weekends.
• Three years DMV/MVR record with no moving violations or accidents.
• Ability to operate and earn certifications in Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), such as Dock Stocker, Sit-down, and Reach trucks.
• Basic computer skills; ability to navigate GPS, electronic log devices (ELDs), and record hours of service (HOS).

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to see, talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to access product on floor or low shelves and operate a hand truck or forklift with a 24-inch step.
• Frequently required to lift, twist, turn, climb, and balance; must be able to climb into a straight/box truck.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather with frequent stops (10+ per shift).
• Regularly lifts and moves items, including:
  • Pallets weighing up to 55 lbs. from floor to one side, move up to 10 feet, and return to original position.
  • Up to 34 lb. box from shoulder level to 75 inches, transferring 15 lbs. while stacking from 6 inches to 60 inches.
  • Up to 75 lbs. from 5 inches off the ground to 46 inches high and return to original position.
  • Hold and squeeze up to 50 lbs., pull items onto a 32-36 inch table, wrap, and unwrap boxes.

Work Environment

• Must tolerate working in different weather conditions and adapt to rapid environmental changes.
• Seated for extended periods while driving established routes with frequent stops.
• Requires customer or site interaction and constant communication with dispatcher.
• Travel between different locations is required.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
