Responsibilities
- Safely load and deliver propane via bobtail truck to residential and commercial locations
- Fill customer tanks of all sizes, ensuring proper hose handling and system integrity
- Perform daily truck maintenance, safety checks, and cleanliness
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
- Verify customer tank levels, capacity, and system integrity before and after delivery
- Operate metering and ticketing systems for accurate record-keeping
- Identify and respond to propane leaks, system irregularities, or safety hazards
- Navigate delivery routes efficiently, adjusting for weather, traffic, or customer needs
- Provide basic customer education on propane safety and tank usage
- Participate in on-call or after-hours emergency delivery rotations
- Complete and submit delivery documentation accurately and timely
- Assist with yard and bulk plant operations, including loading and inspecting storage tanks
- Represent the company professionally and respond courteously to customer inquiries
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1+ years of truck driving experience
- Oil, Gas, or Propane experience highly preferred
- Valid Class A, B, or C CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements
- Ability to operate in adverse weather conditions, including off-road
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Safety-conscious mindset and understanding of safe work practices
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Fine motor skills for operating equipment and machinery
- Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and in writing
- Logical reasoning for simple and complex problem-solving
