About the role
Safety-conscious Driver Helper needed to support garbage collection on specified routes in Selmer, TN.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate on and around a garbage truck to collect solid waste.
- Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading refuse.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
- Interact courteously with customers and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Position typically requires a 50+ hour work week.
Working conditions
- Extensive physical activity, including strenuous work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
- Exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts; basic safety precautions required.
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to weather (wet/humid conditions), fumes, and vibration.
- Moderate noise level.
