About the role
Safely transport ambulatory and/or wheelchair enrollees to and from medical appointments using Senior Network Health’s vehicles. Adhere to all Department of Transportation regulatory requirements, New York State traffic laws, and MVHS safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport enrollees from pickup location to their destinations.
- Document all stops along the trip route into assigned work cell phone app.
- Answer incoming phone calls and communicate with dispatcher, team leader, or supervisor regarding concerns.
- Document pre- and post-trip inspections daily for assigned vehicle.
- Use time management to ensure enrollees arrive at their destination on time.
- Obey and follow applicable traffic laws.
- Utilize GPS to ensure the most accurate route is taken to the desired destination.
- Practice safe driving habits.
- Keep interior and exterior of vehicle clean and presentable, following all infection control guidance.
- Notify supervisor when vehicle maintenance is needed.
- Attend and participate in departmental and organizational committees, meetings, and activities.
- Comply with applicable federal/state regulations and MVHS policies, including enrollee confidentiality and HIPAA.
- Attend agency in-services and educational programs to maintain personal growth and development.
- Routinely update supervisor of issues or concerns and address them in a timely manner.
- Communicate changes/updates to staff, other departments, and supervisor as necessary.
- Interact with consumers, family, staff, and coworkers in a clear, professional, respectful, and positive manner.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Acceptable driving record through the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Knowledge of mobile phone applications and GPS applications.
- Computer literacy, including data entry, retrieval, and report generation.
- Ability to work with consumers and families of all ages in a variety of settings, including inpatient facilities and consumers' homes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead, guide, and motivate others.
- Ability to drive in varying weather conditions and remain alert throughout the workday or shift.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State driver’s license.
- CDL Class C with passenger endorsement or higher driver’s license.
Pay
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour.
Schedule
- Full-time, 0.94 FTE (7.5 hours per shift).
- Day shift.
- Non-union, hourly position.
