About the Role
As a Medical Courier Driver, you will be a vital part of our team, responsible for transporting medical specimens from various locations to our laboratory facilities. Your role is crucial in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of these specimens, which directly impact the lives of patients awaiting diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Transport patient specimens and medical items from one location to another per customer request.
- Load and unload medical items from your vehicle, ensuring specimens, medicines, equipment, or documents are properly maintained and safely secured based on Company requirements.
- Deliver items to the correct destinations in a timely manner based on routing specifications.
- Interact with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and legible delivery records and obtain customer signatures where applicable.
- Communicate with dispatch and management regarding delays, delivery status changes, or other issues.
Requirements
- Drive a personal vehicle adhering to safety and efficiency guidelines.
- Must be HIPAA compliant at all times (training will be provided).
- Knowledge of locating customer locations using GPS or a map.
- Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and execute simple instructions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Strong time management skills to complete daily tasks.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, integrity, and high attention to detail.
- Command of written and spoken English.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Reliable transportation and a good driving record.
Physical Standards
- Frequent driving and getting in and out of the vehicle.
- Frequent walking, climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting 25 pounds or more.
- Wear appropriate attire and footwear that provides comfort and support while driving, bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting.
- Must be able to hear with specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The position is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
Pay
$18.00 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement.
