About the role

The Driver ensures the safe operation of the community’s vehicles and supervision of residents during outings or trips. They may also assist in setting up and breaking down activities and events in the community, aligning with our mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, special activities, and personal resident appointments.
• Assist with the safe loading of residents and their belongings onto and off community vehicles.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
• Comply with standards and processes for proper vehicle inspection and driving, ensuring punctual and safe transport.
• Act as a member of the activity staff during outings/excursions and within the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests, adhering to established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement to drive the bus.
• Prefer two (2) years of experience driving a vehicle/van/bus transporting people.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a criminal background check and health screening tests, including physical and TB tests.
• For health and safety, may be required to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings or other PPE to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.

Pay

$24.00 to $25.00 per hour (depends on experience)
