Driver - FT Days

About the role

Combines motor vehicle handling ability, communication skills, and patient/resident handling and scheduling. Patient/resident sensitivity and confidentiality are a must and are practiced at all times. The driver must develop an understanding of the patient's/resident's physical and emotional status and works with all ages of patients/residents. Transports safely and as scheduled, ensuring all support equipment is well maintained and in good operating condition. Sets up equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and internal policy. Maintains appropriate records per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and internal reports. Communicates scheduling conflicts, coordinates schedules with hospitals and clinics, and understands insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients/residents safely and as scheduled
• Maintain and set up support equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations and internal policy
• Ensure all equipment is in good operating condition
• Maintain appropriate records per DOT requirements and internal reports
• Communicate scheduling conflicts and coordinate with hospitals and clinics
• Understand and apply knowledge of patient/resident physical and emotional status
• Practice patient/resident sensitivity and confidentiality at all times

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Excellent customer service skills
• Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability
• Current valid driver’s license
• Must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (training provided if not certified at time of hire; must be certified within six months)

Salary range: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour
