Driver, Dedicated Backhaul

About the role

Drives a tractor-trailer (day cab/sleeper), tandem trailer and/or straight trucks on intrastate and/or interstate routes to pick up Logistics' loads and/or other related food and non-food product loads.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver assigned loads back to PFG warehouse locations for receiving into inventory.
• Ensure the right product is received and loaded.
• Perform all duties in accordance with DOT regulations and Company safety regulations.
• Inspect loads and paperwork including product counts, invoices, and quality checks.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly for backhaul operations.
• Drive to assigned supplier/vendor and/or PFG warehouse locations according to a predetermined route and delivery schedule.
• Routinely check in with direct supervisor to confirm route, load, and schedule.
• Advise direct supervisor of load drop-off/pick-up issues, schedule changes, and other related information.
• Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
• Behave courteously and professionally in all situations.

Requirements

• 2 – 4 years experience:
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Meet the medical requirements of the DOT
• Commercial driving experience
• Experience in foodservice distribution industry
