Driver - Combo Relief CDL LC

About the role

The Driver – Relief Combo CDL LC provides relief across all modes of delivery, including Small Store, Full Service, and Large Store routes. The responsibilities vary based on the route assigned.

Responsibilities

• High degree of flexibility required to cover open needs of the driver team.
• Able to work with handheld devices.
• Accurate accounting for all cases and customer transactions.
• Ensures proper care of product, equipment, and route settlement daily.
• Works in partnership with the Sales Supervisor to execute the picture of success.
• Establishes positive relationships with all customers, providing superior customer service.
• Provides feedback and recommendations to leadership on competitive threats and business opportunities.
• Communicates any store-level issues to management.
• Maintains rapport with customers.
• Aid in training, coaching, and succession planning of any delivery merchandiser trainees.

Requirements

• Minimum age 21 years old.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet.
• The ability to maintain DOT physical requirements.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies.
• Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines.
• Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets.
• Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively in fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6-12 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to operate a manual or motorized pallet jack.
