Driver - Class B

Position Overview: Responsible for pick-up and delivery between service centers and customers in a professional, safe, and timely manner. Tasks include operating straight trucks, securing freight, performing safety inspections, and communicating with dispatch. Ensures proper documentation, handles freight, and complies with safety and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Operate straight trucks and freight handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.Meet delivery schedules while providing excellent customer service and soliciting new business.Secure freight using pallets, straps, and ropes; perform pre-trip, post-trip, and safety inspections.Follow dispatch instructions, communicate delays or issues, and complete required reports.Handle freight, including loading, unloading, and recouping damaged goods.Ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations and laws.Maintain documentation, verify freight charges, and perform vehicle maintenance tasks like tire chaining. Qualifications & Skills Valid CDL-Class B license with hazardous materials and tank endorsements.At least one year of experience with straight trucks or completion of a driver development course.Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, perform basic math, and read route schedules.Ability to work independently or in a team, and follow instructions. Working Conditions: Must work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, driving on different roads. Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials. Physical endurance required for extended sitting, bending, and climbing in and out of trucks.
