Driver Class B - *$5K Sign on bonus

Clean Harbors in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a Class B CDL Driver to operate light and heavy-duty trucks and work equipment at customer sites. This role involves performing driving and non-driving duties associated with hazardous waste clean-up.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, early AM start time
• 10–12 hour days
• Hazardous household waste (HHW) events every Tuesday, Thursday, and the third Saturday of each month

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes
• Operate commercial trucks (including vacuum trailers, roll-off trailers, van trailers, box trucks, and high-powered vacuum loaders) and assist field laborers as needed
• Perform loading and unloading of trucks using hand carts and dollies
• Manage HHW collections, including picking up hazardous waste at collection sites
• Operate vac trucks and drive box trucks to pick up inventory from customers
• Assist Safety Kleen offices with related tasks
• Ensure customer satisfaction at time of service
• Properly placard vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements/regulations
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Perform site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials (by position)
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week (by position)
• Use Samsara and internal software for documentation via phone/tablet
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (required; Tanker endorsement can be obtained upon hire)
• Automatic restriction OK
• Ability to use various mobile devices
• Perform physical functions per job requirements (e.g., packing, loading/unloading, operating hand carts/dollies)
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical (by position)
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators must meet facial hair standards

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial driver experience
• Previous Hazmat experience
• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Previous manual labor experience

Pay

• Starting pay: $26.75/hour
• $5,000 sign-on bonus
