Driver-CDL Boom/Crane Delivery

About the role

This role involves driving a delivery vehicle to transport materials requiring the operation of a crane or boom. The position requires a CDL license and a crane or boom operator certification.

Responsibilities

• Drives delivery vehicle to transport materials to and from locations and at customer sites.
• Loads and unloads materials using a crane or boom, including rigging, planning, and hoisting heavy construction materials.
• Calculates boom/crane capacities and weights, and ensures clearances and adherence to weight limits and DOT regulations.
• Addresses and resolves customer issues, reporting any unresolved issues to supervisors.
• Maintains crane/boom equipment and logs delivery duties, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Inspects and maintains delivery vehicle to meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Plans and schedules work efficiently to meet productivity goals.
• Observes and adheres to safety procedures to prevent injuries to self and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years driving experience
• Minimum of one year experience operating a crane or boom
• Valid CDL license at all times
• At least 21 years old
• DOT medical card within five days of request
• No more than five moving violations in the past five years

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety procedures while performing driving and materials handling tasks
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and understand maps, routes, road signs
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to route assignments
• Knowledge of basic math and measurement skills
