Responsibilities

• Completes required new hire training
• Sets up required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
• Seeks to learn products and their application for the end users
• Learns and follows established best practices
• Demonstrates legal and thorough knowledge of tie down rules and regs
• Understands weight, height, and length limits
• Ensures that all material transported on the truck has either an invoice or Material Returns Form
• Continues to participate in training as available
• Leans and uses route planning and optimization
• Demonstrates commitment to on-time and in-full deliveries
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Class C License
• Must be 21 years old or older
• Current DOT Medical Card or must obtain DOT medical card as condition of employment
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to speak, write, and read English required
• Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
• Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
• Open and transparent communication
• Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
• Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred
• Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, made of leather or composite material, and have ankle support required

Schedule

This is considered a safety-sensitive position. Drivers will be working at a lumber yard and making deliveries at jobsites in all weather conditions. Physical Requirements: Ability to pass DOT pre-placement physical, Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs., Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, Ability to sit for an extended period of time, Ability to stoop, bend and walk
