Driver

Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA–Greater New York) is a leading anti‑poverty organization serving neighbors in need across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester. Through 70+ programs, we support over 35,000 adults and children each year, including individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, seniors, and children with developmental delays.

We are seeking a Driver to operate official agency vehicles, assist in promoting client services, transport clients to appointments and “hot spot” locations, and help ensure clients adhere to program rules and activities. The position is based in the Bronx, NY 10452.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles in a safe and prudent manner, selecting the most efficient routes.
• Transport clients to and from agency‑designated “hot spots”.
• Check vehicles daily to confirm acceptable operating condition.
• Maintain fuel at at least one‑half full and refuel the tank at the end of each day.
• Complete required paperwork, including daily logs and route sheets.
• Assist in provision of direct‑care services and provide administrative support to the program when not engaged in driving duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• At least two years’ experience as a driver.
• Familiarity with the assigned driving area.
• Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets agency standards.
