About the role

Professional Transportation, Inc. (PTI) has been providing crew transportation services for railroads since 1980 and is the nation’s largest rail crew transportation company. As a PTI Van Driver you will safely transport railroad crew members wherever the railroad requests, with trip lengths and times varying based on customer needs. Safety is the #1 priority. No prior professional driving experience is required, and on‑the‑job training is provided.

Pay

Starting pay for DYV drivers is $13.50 per hour. Starting pay for OTR drivers is $15.00 per hour. Salary range: $13.50 – $15.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Promote and practice safety awareness
• Prioritize on‑time performance to meet customer needs
• Pick up and drop off customers safely to their destinations
• Provide excellent customer service
• Communicate timely with the Dispatch Center
• Open and close all doors/hatches for crew members
• Report any defects, mechanical problems, or missing items found during vehicle inspection to your supervisor
• Promote and follow all company policies and procedures
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Requirements

• At least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Minimum of 3 years driving experience (personal or work‑related)
• Pass post‑offer drug screening, motor vehicle record check, and homeland security background check
• Ability to arrive at the branch location within 30 minutes to ensure on‑time performance
