About the Role

This position is responsible for transporting materials over land to and from Phibro’s customers. The truck driver is an integral part of the transportation team based at the Phibro-Tech plant in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Responsibilities

• Regional driving to and from customer sites, both local and out-of-state
• Drive 3-axle tractors pulling 28', 42', and 48' tanks, flatbeds, and vans
• Comply with current DOT and hazmat regulations
• Load and unload bulk tankers with various chemicals using air or vacuum pumps
• Wash tanker trailers inside and out
• Inspect trucks/trailers and report any defects in accordance with policy
• Disconnect and reconnect trucks and trailers
• Take samples of fresh chemicals going out and waste chemicals returned to the plant
• Wear uniforms, safety shoes, and maintain a presentable appearance at all times
• Have safety equipment available at all times and wear it when appropriate
• Check in with the Transportation Manager daily
• Ensure all completed paperwork and logbooks are accurate and legible
• Be available to work all hours and days of the week
• Report all spills and incidents to the Transportation Manager immediately
• Load and unload 500-lb and 900-lb 55-gallon drums on flatbeds and vans using a drum dolly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 2–3 years of tanker/hazmat driving experience
• California driver’s license, CDL Class A with tank and hazmat endorsements
• TSA hazmat clearance
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of hire (if needed)
• 10-year DMV printout
• Able to pass DOT requirements, including a DOT drug test and physical
• No preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• No more than 1 moving violation in the last 3 years
• No DUI or reckless driving convictions
• No chargeable accidents within the past 3 years
• Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Ability to recognize problems and help identify solutions
• To become T1-T2 Water Treatment certified within a year of employment
