Responsibilities

• Safely drive residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations according to assigned schedule
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and facility policies to ensure the safety of passengers and others on the road
• Assist residents into and out of vehicle
• Secure passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs while driving
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure resident needs are met
• Communicate with administrative staff regularly to receive instructions or report delays and disruptions of service
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, performing routine inspections, refueling, and immediately reporting maintenance needs
• Keep records of trips and behavior of passengers

What you’ll bring

• Current driver’s license and excellent driving record required
• Previous experience in patient transportation or a similar role preferred
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
• Compassion, patience, and empathy in working with seniors
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

USD $22.00 – USD $26.00 per hour
