Driver

About the role

This is a flexible full-time position for applicants willing and able to perform a variety of tasks. The primary responsibility is driving small steel loads to job sites throughout California. When not driving, the employee will contribute significantly to the shop’s production process, requiring skills in structural steel fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Drive small loads to job sites
• Maintain all McWhirter Steel vehicles
• Ensure trucks are properly and safely loaded
• Perform tasks associated with steel fabrication (e.g., machine operation, welding, reading blueprints, grinding, operating a torch)
• Engage in physical labor as required
• Act as a professional and friendly point of contact with clients to uphold McWhirter Steel’s image

Requirements

• At least one skill related to steel fabrication (e.g., machine operation, maintenance, forklift operation, welding, reading blueprints, grinding, torch operation)
• Current and clean driver’s license
• Positive and friendly attitude
• Dependable and trustworthy
• Knowledge of different steel shapes and sizes

Pay

$13–17 per hour
