About the role
Drivers for our Fleet Department support all of our lines of business—and keep them running—by transporting heavy equipment, vehicles, and materials between our Operation Centers, job sites, and yards safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Transport heavy equipment, vehicles, and materials to and from job sites or different job locations.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Document and log work/rest periods.
- Retain fuel/toll receipts and submit to Payroll on time.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods).
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
- Assist with maintenance of tools and equipment: cleaning and/or lubricating, minor repairs, and occasional data entry.
- Work in warehouse includes, but is not limited to:
- Putting away stock
- Arranging material on stock shelves
- Pulling of material orders and tool orders
- Disposal of trash and cardboard
- Facility Janitorial & Grounds Maintenance
- Shipping and Receiving
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid CDL Class A Driver's License
- Must be able to pass a motor carrier physical for driving certain vehicles and so deliveries can be made across state lines.
- Must be able to drive while towing a trailer.
- Experience operating heavy equipment and loads.
- A "can-do" attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
- Driving record free of moving violations, accidents and have the ability to drive company vehicles safely.
