Driver

About the role

The Veterans retail store, located in Columbus, GA, is seeking a hard-working and dedicated Driver. This role plays a key part in our mission to help shape the community by ensuring the availability of a productive livelihood.

Responsibilities

• Maintains vehicle logs and daily trip sheets according to all company procedures.
• Reports any mechanical problems, delays, accidents, and/or other traffic and transportation situations to leadership team.
• Loads and unloads trucks, vehicles, containers, and trailers by hand or with the use of a hand truck, lift gate, and/or pallet jack during pick-up and drop-offs.
• Conducts daily preventative maintenance checks, before, during and after operations, and adheres to all safety regulations.
• Cleans the inside of the assigned vehicle daily, and the outside, as needed. Reports concerns to the leadership team immediately.
• Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transit.
• Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report.
• Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
• Prior forklift experience is preferred.
• Warehouse experience is preferred.
