About the role
Reporting to the Associate Director of Grounds & Transportation, the Driver delivers inter-campus packages to all Fordham campus locations and provides groundskeeping and hardscape support on the RH campus. The Driver must be able to respond to emergencies, on call 24/7 year-round, and maintain a clean driving record. This position requires work on Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties of the Sanitation Truck Driver, including collecting refuse and recyclables from collection sites and discarding them into designated bins/off-site collection areas.
- Performs duties of a Grounds-person as assigned.
- Drives a van for inter-campus delivery of mail, packages, and other materials as required.
- Maintains fuel containers to ensure both types of diesel and gas are kept in stock.
- Responsible for maintaining “Sanitation Dump Tickets” for collection.
- Operates all types of manual and power equipment used for grounds maintenance.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Class “B” NY State Commercial Driver’s License. Minimum of two years of truck/bus driving experience. Minimum of two years of operating grounds equipment and other grounds-related work.
- Knowledge and Skills: Must be fluent in English. Ability to lift up to 100lbs.
Additional Functions
Fills in as a groundsperson when needed.

Minimum Biweekly Salary for New Employees: $2,994.40
