Position Summary
The ideal candidate is friendly, patient, and committed to providing excellent service to seniors while ensuring a high level of safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable, courteous, and efficient transportation service for the residents to and from various human service locations, work sites, educational institutions, medical facilities, grocery stores, drug stores, and others.
- Affix the wheelchair lift/stairs as needed; open and close doors; and load/unload walkers and wheelchairs as needed.
- Ensure resident safety and satisfaction are priorities, and account for the presence of all residents when leaving or returning to the community.
- Prepare the van/bus for operation and coordinate necessary vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain current driving license per state regulations to perform transportation services.
- Follow and understand the rules of the road and transportation safety procedures.
- Assist in the resident programs as needed, including resident activities and special events.
Requirements
- Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid state driver's license (a CDL license is required per state or local regulations).
- Passenger endorsement (if required by state regulations).
- At least three (3) years of driving record and a clean driving history.
- At least one (1) year of previous experience driving a passenger vehicle, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
- Experience in operating large vehicles or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional, friendly, and patient demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, patience and commitment to treating our residents with the utmost respect.
Salary Description
$20/hr
