Driver

About the role

Operate tractor-trailers, including doubles and straight trucks, to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting sales efforts.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety inspections
• Hook and unhook trailers
• Handle freight with manual and motorized equipment
• Secure cargo
• Verify documentation
• Ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
• Solicit additional business
• Perform tire chaining or duties of road drivers or dock employees as needed

Requirements

• Class A CDL with endorsements (hazardous materials, tank, double/triple)
• One year of recent experience or completion of a driver development course
• Valid Motor Vehicle Record
• Meet DOT regulations
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
• Basic math and communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team

Working conditions

Drive in various weather and road conditions, with exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials. Ability to perform physical tasks and follow instructions is required.
