Driver

This role involves picking up and delivering freight between Service Centers and customers, while supporting sales efforts. Key duties include operating tractor-trailers, performing safety inspections, hooking/unhooking trailers, handling freight with equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and securing cargo inside trailers. Responsibilities also include verifying documentation, complying with hazardous material regulations, collecting freight charges, communicating with dispatch and customers, and providing excellent internal and external customer service. Qualifications require a Class A CDL with endorsements, relevant driving experience or completion of a driver development course, a clean Motor Vehicle Record, and compliance with DOT regulations. Skills include basic math, good communication, physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team. Work conditions involve driving in various weather, exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials, with operational flexibility. Compensation is $32.90/hour, with additional mileage pay for linehaul duties, and benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and bonuses.
