Transport and deliver petroleum products to customers by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area.

Responsibilities

  • Climb ladders to check holding tanks on equipment.
  • Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during, and after trips; submit a report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip or tour of duty.
  • Check shipping papers to determine the nature of load and verify accuracy.
  • Install and remove tire chains as required by weather conditions.
  • Drive truck to and from designated destinations for up to 11 hours; climb in and out of the truck cab frequently.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations (e.g., heavy traffic, inclement weather, tight loading/unloading areas).
  • Drive equipment in all types of weather and conditions, including forward and backward navigation over long distances, around corners, and in tight spaces.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, pull, and push hoses and equipment required for the job.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s record of duty status, mileage records, and other legally required documentation.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Report all accidents involving the driver or company equipment, as well as highway safety hazards noted en route.
  • Promptly report delays due to breakdowns, weather, traffic, or other emergencies, or irregularities related to pick-up or delivery of cargo.
  • Maneuver fuel hoses in, around, and through all types of equipment as required.
  • Ensure safe and legal operation of a commercial motor vehicle and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination.
  • Operate controls for unloading product, including gravity drops and pump-off.
  • Handle and accurately complete all necessary paperwork related to truck operation and freight movements.
  • Professionally represent the company and the trucking industry through responsible driving and appearance.
  • Follow Company guidelines outlined in the Driver handbook.
  • Use the truck on-board computer to process Hours of Service (HOS), messaging, Electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (EDVIR), and complete delivery paperwork.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Class A driver’s license with tanker, combination, and hazmat endorsements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations; mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, road signs, and maintain records of duty status.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Availability for around-the-clock trips to accommodate freight movements and irregular shifts.
  • Meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
  • Pass a drug test and, if applicable, an alcohol test.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Exposure to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Very active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

$2500 signing bonus. This position is designated as safety-sensitive pursuant to Washington law (RCW 49.44.240). Pre-employment drug testing will include marijuana and its metabolites.
