About the role
Located in the heart of downtown Madison, Capitol Lakes is a vibrant, not-for-profit Life Plan Community offering residents an engaging lifestyle with exceptional amenities and a full continuum of care, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing. We are seeking a Driver – CDL to provide safe, reliable transportation while delivering an inviting, resident-centered experience that supports independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide driving services for residents and guests for medical appointments, errands, outings, special events, and other destinations in support of a progressive customer service model.
- Operate community vehicles, including small passenger buses and wheelchair lifts, in a safe and professional manner in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and community standards.
- Aid residents in and out of vehicles, including loading and unloading walkers and wheelchairs, while maintaining a gracious, attentive, and courteous approach.
- Perform pre-trip inspections, minor preventive maintenance, maintain interior cleanliness of vehicles, and promptly report any damage, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
- Participate in required training, remain knowledgeable of emergency procedures, respond calmly during emergencies, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience driving cars and/or buses, transportation services, or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet employment driver guidelines.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A, B, or C and DOT medical certificate preferred.

- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
