Driver

About the role

Transports patients from place of origin to appointments in a courteous and timely manner. This position requires a high commitment to service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and return patients as per schedule.
• Stay in contact with the office to report any change in schedule, including patient cancellations.
• Assist patients in getting in and out of the vehicle.
• Assist patients with wheelchairs.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers.
• Work flexible shifts as dictated by workload.
• Perform deliveries, transport Holter monitors, and handle miscellaneous pick-ups as needed.
• Transport patients to hospitals or specialist offices.
• Check and maintain the van daily to ensure it is mechanically safe and clean.
• Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor and management immediately.
• Wear the company uniform.
• Utilize phone as a routing system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Up to 1 year of driving experience required; patient transportation preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• Knowledge of local streets and addresses.
• Customer service skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Skills

• Valid Driver’s license.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to transport members in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and location.
• Must comply with company policies and procedures.
• Must maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to check and fully inspect vehicles daily.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to reach, lift, carry, and move objects.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, sit intermittently, and occasionally climb.
• Must be able to work extended and flexible hours, including weekends as needed.
• Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Travel Requirements

Work will involve driving/traveling to assigned clinics.
