Driver
About the role
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution.
Responsibilities
- Perform bulk and packaged deliveries
- Execute proper loading and unloading procedures
- Complete required documentation
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards
Requirements
- Safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment
- Transport of HAZMAT and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products
- Operations involving bulk and packaged deliveries, in-plant movements, and inter-company branch transfers
- Compliance with DOT, OSHA, and site-specific rules and regulations
- Follow Brenntag operating procedures and work instructions
- Operate a tractor, trailer, or applicable service vehicle in a safe and efficient manner
- Certification to operate pallet jacks (electric or manual)
- Ability to operate dock locks, dock levelers, and additional applicable equipment for delivery/pickup of material
- Properly care for all assigned equipment
- Remain in communication with supervisor and/or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions
Qualifications
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience
- Prior experience in working with chemical delivery (if education or service requirements are not fully met)
- Driver qualifications (DQ) for employment
- Minimum of 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience or 3 years commercial truck driving experience
- Current DOT medical card
- Current TWIC card or application in process (if location requires)
- Ability to wear a respirator (if required for role)
- Ability to operate power units that utilize advanced camera and safety systems (i.e., Samsara)
- Reside local to area (within sixty miles)
- No lodging provided
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Pass E-verify check
Skills
Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
Comfortable with general warehouse duties and the use of applicable equipment
Detail and customer oriented with good organizational skills
Ability to read, comprehend and conduct detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara) to conduct normal safety, compliance, and business operations
