Your Role And Responsibilities
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products.
- Perform bulk and packaged deliveries.
- Execute proper loading and unloading procedures.
- Complete required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards.
Job Description
General: Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution. Job requirements will include transport of HAZMAT and non-hazardous materials. This is both liquid and dry material.
- Movements to satisfy outside delivery (customers/vendors), in plant movements (spotting), and/or inter-company branch transfers.
- Bulk deliveries of liquids and solid materials that will include loading and offloading of materials from appropriate trailer configurations.
- Packaged deliveries of materials in drums, IBCs, or other containers in liquid form. Palletized material (dry or liquid) and supersacks (dry) of product.
Candidate Profile
- Must Possess:a Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat Endorsement (as required for role).
- A current DOT medical card.
- If required by the location, be certified to operate a forklift and applicable accessories.
- Must be able to operate dock locks, dock levelers, and additional applicable equipment for delivery/pickup of material.
- Candidate must properly care for all assigned equipment. This includes all ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems, and tracking units on all tractors and trailers.
- Candidate must remain in communication with supervisor and/or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment DOT fit-for-duty exam.
- Must be able to sit and drive for long hours.
- Must be able to step into and out of equipment safely.
- Must be able to stage, move, set up, operate, and break down equipment while performing loading/delivery tasks.
- Lifting ability up to 75 pounds.
- Frequently pushes, pulls, or moves up to 150 pounds.
- Must be able to wear a respirator (if required for role) and all other personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to load and unload hazardous material.
- Must be able to climb ladder.
