About the Role
Under limited supervision, responsible for timely and accurate pick-up and delivery of customer parts and related materials. This position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market.
Responsibilities
- General inspection of company truck, including minor maintenance as needed
- Complete required paperwork (e.g., vehicle inspection reports)
- Prompt and accurate pickup and delivery of customer parts and related materials, practicing safe driving standards as set by state law
- Prepare jobs for shipment, loading and unloading trucks safely and carefully
- Secure all loads per DOT requirements
- Maintain professional demeanor and appearance at all times
- Follow set procedures if involved in an accident: call authorities, complete accident report, and notify supervisor immediately
- Report all warnings, citations, or tickets from roadside inspections or traffic stops to supervisor
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating professionally with external and internal customers
- Practice and promote safety, good housekeeping, and assist in the shipping/receiving department as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position
- Perform driving operations in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with all state motor vehicle guidelines and regulations
- Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of experience in commercial driving
- Current driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical
- Must pass a commercial driver physical
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator certificate
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week (may include overtime, weekends, or any shift)
Skills & Physical Demands
- Ability to work in a sitting position for extended periods while driving
- Manual dexterity for data entry functions
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and files
- Ability to hear in person and via phone
- Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity
Schedule
7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay
Hourly pay range: $23 – $26 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.
