Driver
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering all loads in a safe and timely manner according to Arxada policy and DOT requirements.
Responsibilities
- To deliver all local (straight truck-primary routes) and OTR (bulk truck- backup driver) loads in a safe and timely manner including pre-planning trips based on weather, length of haul and delivery times.
- To follow appropriate procedures for transporting hazard materials according to Arxada policy and DOT requirements.
- To ensure equipment maintenance and all safety equipment is up to date as required by Arxada and DOT.
- To plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions by utilizing computer equipment, GPS or other navigational devices to minimize fuel consumption.
- To perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, radiator fluid etc. and/or performing minor repairs as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3 years or more as an over the road driver.
- Hazmat and bulk endorsement, passport and TWIC card.
- Able to pass DOT physical.
Skills
- Strong driving skills.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and hazmat transportation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
