Responsibilities

  • Performs daily assigned routes and on-demand duties to ensure accurate and timely delivery of mail, linens, documents, packages, biological specimens, medical supplies, equipment, and patient records.
  • Maintains daily electronic and hard copy vehicle logs of each stop in accordance with department performance measures.
  • Participates in providing outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships.
  • Available for various and flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation services.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and procedures during transportation.
  • Communicates effectively with relevant departments to coordinate transportation needs.
  • Operates transportation vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and organizational policies.
  • Maintains cleanliness and proper functioning of transportation vehicles.
  • Reports any vehicle maintenance issues or incidents promptly.
  • Utilizes tracking systems and devices to monitor the status of transported items.
  • Fulfills the transport of hazardous materials safely.
  • Provides excellent customer service during interactions with staff and clients.
  • Completes required training and certifications for safe transportation practices.
  • Transports biological specimens, medical supplies, equipment, reports, patient care records, pharmacy preparations, and related paperwork according to defined schedules or urgent requests.
  • Leverages technology to communicate with internal dispatch command center.
  • Ensures the security and proper handling of all transported items.
  • Maintains accurate and timely delivery records for all transported items.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively and the ability to work with people of various backgrounds.
  • Self-starter that can budget his/her time and activities as needed to accomplish the task at hand.
  • Ability to identify, sort items and organize the cargo to deliver it to the right place at the right time.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Ability to be courteous, follow a schedule and instructions.
  • Ability to use scanning device to help log and track all deliveries.
  • Ability to use good judgment in all emergencies.
  • Ability to drive all vehicles from sedan to small box trucks.
  • Knowledge of Orlando and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equivalent.
  • Previous courier experience.

Skills

  • Driver's License (DL).
  • Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack certification (FKLT).
