Drive Victims to Safety, Save the Day!
What We Do
Families to Freedom provides free transportation services to victims and their children who have experienced domestic abuse. Our services include:
- Car rides to domestic violence shelters across the region
- Road trips to family homes in other states
- Multistate bus tickets
- Fuel assistance to relocate far away
Who We Serve
We serve victims and new survivors across North Texas, East Texas, and the Gulf Coast area. We drive over 900 victims and children each year between two offices located in Dallas and Houston.
How You Can Help
Be a hero to a survivor by driving them to safety! We help domestic abuse, family violence, and sex trafficked adults from across the Gulf Coast region. Volunteers are needed to drive victims to safety, including:
- Across the Houston area to domestic violence shelters or family homes
- To other parts of the United States
Volunteer safety is our top priority. You can choose the distance you're willing to travel, whether across town or across the state, or beyond. Weekday daytime availability is in high demand. You can choose to accept or decline a drive - no pressure!
We arrange survivor pick-ups in a safe public place. Many of our survivors travel with children - we prepare car seats so you don't have to! Families to Freedom provides the vehicle (or use your own) and covers all travel costs. Fuel is reimbursed monthly.
