Driller Operator - Environmental/Rotary/Sonic

This position ensures drilling operations are executed in accordance with the drilling plan from implementation, completion, and abandonment of drill sites. The Driller leads the crew in preparing equipment and site for drilling operations, including setup and breakdown of drilling sites. We are considering candidates with experience from CA, AZ, NV, and UT. Office locations are based in Northern and Southern CA.

Responsibilities

• Work up to 55 hours per week doing physical labor (up to 12 hours per day).
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and conduct pre-trip inspections.
• Set up control zones and perform physical labor, including shoveling drilling debris and transporting materials using ergonomically correct lifting techniques.
• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more throughout the workday.
• Engage in repetitive motions such as bending and twisting.
• Withstand long periods of standing (field work involves time on feet for the entire workday except for breaks and lunch).
• Maintain equipment and knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
• Direct subordinate employee(s) and maintain all certifications required by the industry or OSHA.
• Operate forklifts and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A or B), Class A preferred, or willingness to obtain Class A. Driving record must be clear of major infractions.
• Environmental or Rotary Drilling Experience.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds throughout the day.
• Ability to pass a yearly physical and random drug tests.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Physical demands include walking, using hands to handle objects/tools, reaching with hands and arms, balancing, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, and hearing.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to stand for long periods and maneuver in small areas.
• Required to wear protective and safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions, uneven and slippery outdoor surfaces.
• Noise level in the work environment is typical of machinery noise, which can be loud and distracting.
• May be exposed to dust and fluctuations in outside temperatures.
