Dredge Deckhand - Night Shift
About the role
The dredge/towboat deckhand will perform all general labor type work and duty required to safely operate and maintain the dredge and towboat as directed by supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Dredge, barge, and towboat housekeeping
- Handling lines and cables for barges and anchors
- Maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
- Chipping and painting
- Maintenance of all safety equipment
- Work will be performed on a dredge on the Arkansas River, being done primarily above or adjacent to water
Requirements
- Familiarity and comfort with work over and adjacent to water
- Ability to work during severe conditions including inclement weather
- Ability to work 12 hours per day
- Ability to work Saturdays
- And willingness to do manual labor including lifting items as heavy as 50 pounds
