Drafting Technician

About the role

Full-time Drafting Technician position responsible for drafting detailed construction drawings and specifications used in planning and construction of civil engineering projects. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Develops various forms of architectural building plans from written contracts within an AutoCAD system, including building specifications and layouts, sections, details, truss drawings, and specialty items for building code issues.
• Interacts and develops relationships with various individuals across the company, including engineers, architects, construction estimators, sales estimators, project managers, and sales consultants.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2-year degree in Drafting or equivalent experience, preferably in the post-frame construction industry.
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently, as well as within a team setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow-through.
• Self-starter with a positive, willing-to-learn attitude.
