Responsibilities
- Receives, reviews, and interprets project requirements and design information including but not limited to Scope of Work (SOW), Engineering Specification Reviews (ESR), Calculations, Placement Sketch, Construction Notes, Controls Component Spec (& Control's location on vessel), and Internals order forms to complete designs.
- Provides a timely and accurate response to all inquiries.
- Interacts closely with both Project Engineers and Manufacturing Personnel to meet customer needs.
- Produces 3D Parts, Assemblies, and Layouts created in CAD, General Arrangement (GA) and Fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials, and prototype designs to support customer requirements, using Pro/E Creo (version 5 or later) for drafting and design purposes.
- Makes necessary corrections to existing drawings following quality review process.
- Determines appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the client’s requirements, a standard template designed for the specific type of work, or by updating an existing CAD file.
- Reviews drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate drafting standards.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology. 3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above (8 years of demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering field in lieu of degree).
- Working knowledge & experience with Pro/E Creo (version 5 or later) is required.
- Have a basic understanding of welding processes, callouts, and applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Creo Sheetmetal design is a plus.
- Prior experience in Engineering design, and ASME Pressure vessel manufacturing industry is helpful.
- Having a basic understanding of controls and instrumentation, and the ability to take concepts to design is also a plus.
Travel Requirements
Incumbents are expected to travel as needed to support assigned business lines(s) and must have the ability to travel across borders.
