DPO Material Manager, Devices Postponement Operations (DPO)

About the role

The DPO Materials Manager (DPO MM) owns ensuring the right components are available to support production at DPO facilities. The DPO MM analyzes device supply signals and applies statistical methods through the Reorder Point process to determine what components to order and when. The DPO MM partners with demand planning teams to align component orders to production requirements, reports material costs (including transit, tariffs, and duties) to executives and stakeholders, and manages Contract Manufacturer compliance to warehouse standards, global shipment tracking, and risks of excess and obsolete material. The DPO MM drives supplier partners to deliver on time and at the right cost and continuously creates and refines planning processes using a variety of tools, including AI.

Responsibilities

• Analyze device supply signals and drive CTB using the ROP process, partnering with demand planning teams and applying statistical methods to determine component order quantities and timing.
• Continuously create and refine the process using a variety of tools, including AI.
• Identify and drive solutions to reduce or eliminate gaps in supply plans and materials, including managing and reporting on global material shipments and risks to the Dallas and Manchester facilities.
• Authorize and drive supplier partners to procure material to support program goals.
• Gather, analyze, and report material costs (material, transit, tariff, duties), including status, risks, and opportunities, in Amazon systems and executive reviews.
• Manage and report on any risks of excess and obsolete (E&O) material.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and commodity managers to define required materials for production, testing, and development.
• Manage the Contract Manufacturer’s compliance to warehouse management standards, including FIFO rotation of components, at the Dallas and Manchester facilities.
• Maintain material supply records and provide data feeds to Amazon’s procurement and global planning systems to support CTB and ATS calculations and Purchase Order creation.

About the Team

Device Postponement Operations (DPO) is Amazon Lab126’s team responsible for in-region postponement, customization, and pack-out of Amazon’s innovative devices. DPO finalizes assembly using automated and manual assembly and pack-out lines so Amazon can customize products to meet just-in-time demand, enabling fast, low-cost, high-quality delivery to customers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 5+ years of equivalent experience
• Experience in supply chain, commodity, and supplier management in a high volume, global sourcing and operations manufacturing environment with a global supply base of contract manufacturers
• Experience communicating results to senior leadership or working in large teams or at a national/multinational organization
• Experience collaborating with global and local stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in materials management: BOMs for component ordering, CTB Analysis and Reporting, Establishing Reorder Points, statistical stock reorder calculations
• Demonstrated experience in cost management: Costed BOMs, Cost Reporting, Gap Analysis, E&O mitigation and reporting
• Strong data analysis skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, including experience applying AI tools to improve analytical processes
• Experience with PLM systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of full product life cycle experience
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python
• Experience with Atlassian products and reporting
• Experience with statistical methods or statistical process control in a materials planning or supply chain context
• Experience with AI or GenAI tools applied to materials planning or supply chain processes

Pay

USA, TX, Dallas — $79,500.00 – $139,100.00 USD annually
