Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of DP Field Service Engineers and Technicians to ensure safe, high-quality service execution.
- Plan and coordinate onboard commissioning, repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex DP/vessel control issues encountered in the field.
- Career with vessel operators, shipyards, and offshore stakeholders to schedule and deliver service work with minimal downtime.
- Support acceptance and validation activities including FAT/CAT/SAT as required.
- Ensure compliance with OEM work instructions, class/flag expectations, and HSE requirements.
- Review and approve service reports, ensuring accurate documentation, traceability, and clear closeout.
- Partner with internal teams to support spare parts planning, warranty workflows, and service logistics.
- Assist with onboarding and training for junior service staff; drive consistent processes and standards.
- Provide structured field feedback to engineering/product teams to support continuous improvement.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and resource planning for field service operations.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Dynamic Positioning systems, marine vessel operations, and marine control/propulsion fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience supporting DP-related equipment such as sensors, position reference systems, and vessel control interfaces.
- Demonstrated experience leading field service personnel (supervisor/lead/manager level).
- Proven troubleshooting capability across electrical, electro-hydraulic, PLC-based, and/or propulsion-adjacent systems.
- Willingness to travel onboard/offshore as needed (typically Nice-to-Have).
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in Marine, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or similar).
- Experience in offshore marine environments (e.g., DP vessels, drilling, subsea, offshore construction).
- Exposure to dock trials, sea trials, vessel integration, and commissioning projects.
- Prior service in U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, or commercial marine engineering environments.
