About the Opportunity
The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Toxic Exposures Research Program (TERP) Translational Research Award (TRA) supports translational research that accelerates promising ideas in military-related toxic exposure research into clinical applications, including healthcare products, interventions, technologies, and/or clinical practice guidelines. Translational research integrates basic science and clinical observations, and may incorporate New Approach Methodologies.
Applications must demonstrate the reciprocal transfer of information between basic and clinical science in developing and implementing the research plan.
Distinctive Features
- Includes a Partnering Principal Investigator Option (PPIO) to encourage meaningful collaborations. One Principal Investigator (PI) is designated as the initiating PI, and an additional PI may be named as a Partnering PI. If funded, each PI will receive a separate award.
- Supports interdisciplinary partnerships (e.g., clinicians and research scientists) to accelerate research beyond what individual efforts could achieve.
