About the role
The McNay Art Museum, the first museum of modern and contemporary art founded in Texas, is offering the Douglass Foundation Fellowship in Curatorial Studies within the Curatorial Affairs department. Beginning in the fall of 2026, the fellowship provides hands‑on experience for individuals interested in a museum career, working directly with the museum’s Curator of Latinx Art.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Curator of Latinx Art by providing organizational support and conducting research toward a major McNay exhibition tentatively scheduled for 2027.
- Manage correspondence related to curatorial projects.
- Research incoming acquisitions.
- Prepare acquisition reports.
- Perform other departmental duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in art history, art criticism, museum studies, or a related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Strong research skills.
- Experience with Latin American art is a plus.
Pay
Salary: $33,000 per year.
Schedule
Full‑time position lasting just under 10 months, starting in the fall of 2026.
