Double Bottom Dump Truck Driver (Materials)

About the role

The Double Bottom Dump Driver is responsible for the transporting of aggregate and asphalt products to plants and job sites in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Load material at aggregate plants and safely transport it to other plants or job sites
• Clean vehicle, including the spraying down of trailers when needed
• Report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required
• Tarp loads when needed to protect product being hauled
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours; overtime may be required
• Ability to travel to various work locations based on work availability and customer demand
• Can be exposed to extremes of hot and cold weather

Requirements

• Class A commercial driver’s license with a doubles endorsement
• Safe driving record - No more than two moving violations within the past 24 months; No serious moving violations within the past 36 months
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Strong customer service skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours; overtime may be required
• Ability to travel to various work locations based on work availability and customer demand
• Can be exposed to extremes of hot and cold weather
• Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
• Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing
• In accordance with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, for work that will be performed in the San Francisco area, qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment

Qualifications

• Experience in aggregate or heavy construction industries
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience
