Dosimetrist III
About the Role
To provide high quality, professional, and compassionate radiation therapy dosimetry work under the direction of leadership. This position requires thorough familiarity with the physical and geometric characteristics of radiation equipment, along with the training and expertise to generate image-based computerized treatment plans based on protocols and methods established by radiation oncologists and medical physicists. The role also involves administering quality control programs in conjunction with the physicist and radiation therapists in the department.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate treatment plans for clinical value and acceptability in clinical situations.
- Coordinate essential activities in workflow for radiation therapy treatments.
- Follow instructions and documented procedures to perform tasks on computer workstations accurately, safely, and efficiently.
- Understand and communicate the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to derive and implement treatment plans.
- Interpret and execute treatment plans as defined in relevant treatment protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physics or a related field.
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) certification upon hire.
- 5 years of recent relevant experience.
Skills
- Ability to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts to facilitate the treatment planning process.
- Proficiency in mathematical skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information to radiation oncologists and therapists.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- No weekend requirements.
Pay
Pay range is $183,872.00 to $257,400.00 / annual salary. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program, which also includes a comprehensive benefits package for eligible positions.
