Grade 7S – Union position. New hires start at the entry-level rate of $48,584.90; pay may advance within the salary band up to $65,931.32 per the collective bargaining agreement with OPEIU, Local 6.

About the role

This position is a Department of Revenue Child Support Processor within the Administrative Office of the Probate & Family Court. The role administers child support dockets and records and provides administrative support for judicial proceedings related to the establishment and enforcement of court orders in divorce, separation, paternity, abuse prevention, and other matters involving minor children.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute case-related forms and assist attorneys and court users with proper completion of documents.
  • Receive and direct phone calls or Virtual Registry inquiries.
  • Respond to standard requests for information concerning cases, scheduling, and court procedures while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provide copy orders of judgments and case materials to court users via mail.
  • Deliver customer service in paternity and child support cases to attorneys, litigants, law enforcement, and the public.
  • Distribute Child Support Case Intake Form, Child Support Services Application Form, and other domestic-relations forms.
  • Process cases: scan documents, docket, schedule motions, and prepare summonses.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail for the Registry of Probate; intake court documents sent by mail.
  • Organize mail, pull and return case files, and docket complaints, judgments, orders, income assignments, and court actions.
  • Copy, file, retrieve, and sort court papers, documents, and folders according to established procedures.
  • Review court documents for accuracy and completeness before entering them into the permanent record; resolve inaccuracies or refer unusual problems to a supervisor.
  • Assist in training new employees and ongoing training of staff in child support matters.
  • Respond to complex requests for case, scheduling, and procedural information.
  • Serve as liaison between the Registry and the Department of Revenue on child support matters, including processing and electronically transmitting orders and coordinating hearing information.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.
  • One year of related office and/or customer service work experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
