About the role
Maintain a clean and organized door and window receiving warehouse. Ensure that offloaded products are handled with care, properly checked-in and received, and placed in the correct location. Assist customers with will calls for door and window products and help load the door and window box van delivery truck.
Responsibilities
- Unload all incoming freight trucks in the holding and door and window receiving area
- Verify the correct quantities and products are received according to the packing slip
- Update orders and ensure paperwork is handled with care and placed into correct locations
- Bring stock products up to the main yard, warehouse, or receiving locations
- Work with the delivery team to ensure trucks are loaded in a timely fashion
- Check in incoming special orders
- Update orders, label products, and assign locations
- Inform customers that the product has arrived and is ready for pick up
- Receive purchase orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicate with sales for Will Call Drive Thru orders
- Communicate with customers and load vehicles for Will Call Drive Thru Orders
- Maintain flow of vendor trucks, customers, and Ashby trucks
- Audit old/dead orders; inform salespersons involved as well as the Receiving Manager
- Contact customers to notify them their product is ready for pick up
- Work with sales/buyers on resolving issues around damaged products
- Work with Accounts Payable on questions about invoice discrepancies
- Assist sales/buyers to ensure product is returned to vendors
- Assist cycle counter with counts and product locations on stock products
- Back-up staff in receiving, yard, and warehouse as needed
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including phone calls, emails, and chats

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Operate a variety of standard office machines: computer and computer software (including Microsoft Office), phone, fax, shredder, and copy machines
Physical Requirements
- Sit/stand for 8 hours per day
- Use hands and fingers to manipulate keys on a keyboard
- Vision abilities required include close vision
- Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. occasionally; must be able to push/pull 50 lbs.
- Horizontal reaching with arms and hands is required; occasionally must climb or balance
- All mobility motions are required (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing)
- Range of motion and physical activity occurring randomly throughout the workday
