About the role
As a Donut Fryer/Finisher at Festival Foods, you’ll make breakfast more delicious for our guests by preparing a variety of high-quality donuts. Your expertise in mixing, frying, and decorating will help maintain the bakery’s high standards and ensure an exceptional experience for every customer.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent guest service through friendly greetings, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism and care.
- Prepare donuts by mixing, frying, and/or decorating according to recipes and department standards to ensure high-quality, mouth-watering products.
- Increase sales by creating visually appealing and delicious donuts.
- Minimize waste by following production lists and recipes accurately, using precise measurements, and reducing shrink.
- Assist guests in finding items, taking orders for special requests, and addressing inquiries with proper phone etiquette.
- Package and price items from the service case, and maintain adequate supplies in the bakery by replenishing ingredients and other necessary items.
- Support department goals by assisting in other areas as needed and maintaining cleanliness in work areas, shelving, and the sales floor.
- Adhere to food safety protocols, maintain food safety logs, and ensure all quality standards are met, including meeting quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
- Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
- Follow all safety requirements and company safety policies, with proper training and knowledge of bakery equipment and procedures, including fryers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Standing for extended periods of time (80% of time).
- Lifting up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis (70% of time).
- Frequently near moving machinery (80% of time).
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (20% of time).
- Repetitive motion of hands and wrists.
- Frequently near hot grease (90% of time).
Schedule
The Donut Fryer/Finisher position may be part-time or full-time. The work schedule generally includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to work evenings or overnight as needed.
