Donor Support Tech

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Set up the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responding to alarms or signals that occur during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness and awareness of any donor reactions during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
• Use a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents such as machine alerts, volume variances, and donor adverse events.
• Use a PDA to link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor.
• Alert the Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center, if applicable.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient operating supplies and forms are available.
• Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.
• Promote safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the discretion of the organization.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Pay

The expected base pay for this position at hiring is $18.98/hour - $20.39/hour. Individual base pay within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies, and other relevant factors.
