Donor Service Representative - Full Time

About the role

Goodwill Keystone Area is committed to creating a culture of belonging where all people feel respected and valued. This role assists and promotes through positive customer service the donations of clothing and household items to Goodwill Keystone Area for resale in its store locations.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors in a pleasant and professional manner
• Promote and represent Goodwill Keystone Area in a positive manner
• Assist donors with donations, including unloading items from vehicles and issuing donation receipts
• Politely refuse items on the "thanks, but no thanks" list and provide donation information to donors
• Complete donor tracking paperwork accurately and submit in a timely manner
• Assist the transportation department with tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, collecting and distributing materials, and removing trash and salvage
• Steri-fab items as needed, following all safety precautions
• Price hard goods as needed
• Maintain a clean and orderly production and donor area, as well as the outside donor area
• Support and participate in organizational programs and special events
• Contribute to the organization by supporting additional tasks and projects as needed
• Promote an environment of workplace safety and ensure duties are performed in a safe manner

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to speak, hear, read, and write, with the ability to speak English to interact with donors and customers satisfactorily.

• Good customer service skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Neat and positive appearance and demeanor

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push and pull various carts requiring a force of 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet for 25% of the shift
• Ability to push and pull manual pallet jacks with gaylords or other material requiring a force of 60 pounds a distance of 100 feet for 25% of the shift
• Ability to lift 50 pounds from ground level to waist level at least 80 times during the course of an entire shift
• Ability to repeatedly bend forward or to the side 60 degrees to remove or place items into various carts and gaylords for 50% of the shift
• Ability to step up 24 inches onto forklifts and/or onto the lift forks slots of trash dumpsters up to 25% of shift
• Ability to raise hands above the head to open trash dumpsters for 10% of the shift
• Ability to stand continuously for more than 75% of the shift
• Visual and hearing acuity (with correction) that meets standard vision and hearing test criteria
